This race will be held March 5th for the 32nd time. My husband, Ren Fuglestad, is the only participant to have raced in all previous 31 races. He certainly intends to race in the 32nd running! The people who gather in West Yellowstone for this event are a very special group of people in that they're interested in the beauty of the great outdoors (like only Montana can show it), in the beauty of a physically fit athletic body (XC skiing is said to be 'the perfect exercise for the total body') that comes in all ages, sizes, and shapes, interested in promoting their sport (they're not a elitist group by any means), and interested in having a good time while doing it all. From the spaghetti feed the night before the race to the awards ceremony the evening of the race, a great time is had by participants and spectators alike - enhanced by the welcoming atmosphere of the people of West Yellowstone, the buzz of the snowmobiles, and the spectacular beauty of the surrounding area. It's a treat to be part of such an event. See www.rendezvousrace.com for more info or on FBook at Yellowstone Rendezvous or Rendezvous Trails.

Why You Should Visit
Pretty sure that “happy to be alive feeling” comes out of the trees or something here. I am not a great cross country skier by any stretch but even I am simply at peace with the world cruising the trails at Rezvendous. The terrain is rolly enough to be interesting and the setting is evergreens and aspens, all dressed in winter white. A quiet, unspoiled, wonderful place. Except when it’s an amazingly fun place…they host several annual events and races. My favorite is the Taste of the Trails, where they put gourmet food and wine stations along a 5k trail…we always get a little giggly (and the food is great!)
